Mr. Kawase joined Matsushita Electric Works Ltd. and worked in the intellectual property division for nearly forty years. Admitted to Japanese Patent Bar in 1971 and engaged as in-house counsel in intellectual property department. He joined Sankyo as a senior partner in 2000 and has been in charge of trademarks , design patents, copyrights, anti-unfair competition law, and contracts in general. He had served as Adjunct Lecturer at Kobe University from 1992 to 2004 and at Kansai University from 2001 to 2007.
